Giving back to the environment is something I’m passionate about, so I’ve partnered with One Tree Planted. Planting trees will help provide healthy habitats for wildlife and improve the environment.
This is our way of giving back to the environment. One Tree Planted is a non-profit dedicated to global reforestation. They are helping plant trees to restore nature and biodiversity, to combat climate change.

Millions Of Trees Planted
In 2021, One Tree Planted helped to plant 23 million trees worldwide. That’s 23 million trees planted across the globe for people, nature and the environment. One Tree Planted worked with 86 partners on 166 projects in 42 countries in 2021. The people, communities and families around the world who are involved in our planting projects see numerous positive impacts.
In Australia, their projects focused on restoring forests following the destruction brought on by the Black Summer and other bushfires. Critical rejuvenation of indigenous wildlife habitats and tree species that were lost during the fires are just some of the benefits of planting 2,212,548 trees. You can read the full story here.

Giving Back To The Environment By Planting 25 Million Trees
For eight months, between July 2019 and March 2020, fires tore through forests in Victoria, Queensland and New South Wales.
Now dubbed the “Black Summer,” many of these blazes were vast. One, the Gospers Mountain fire west of Sydney, burned more than 1.26 million acres, the largest forest fire ever recorded in Australia. The full scope of damage nationwide wasn’t known until late 2021. It was calculated the total area burned during the Black Summer at 59 million acres.
With the catastrophic fires still fresh in the collective memory, Australians are now embarking on multiple reforestation initiatives. The federal government has committed $144 million to aid native wildlife and habitat recovery.
The magnitude of the Black Summer fires triggered an outpouring of financial support for reforestation organisations. Key among these was One Tree Planted, which has engaged in partnerships in Australia, including the Bushfire Recovery Nurseries program. One Tree Planted and the Foundation for National Parks & Wildlife are partnering to grow 1 million native tree seedlings in community nurseries. Read the full story here.
One Tree Planted has committed to planting 25 million trees across Australia by 2025, working with Greening Australia on behalf of a reforestation program.

New Nurseries To Help Australian Bushfire Recovery
One Tree Planted and a coalition of local partners launch four new bushfire recovery nurseries to help restore the Australian landscape. As part of a ‘Healing Our Land’ global emergency appeal, the new nurseries will propagate native seedlings and restore wildlife habitat as part of a larger effort to help Australia recover from the bushfires. In order to better acclimate seedlings and replant forests regionally, the nurseries are all located in New South Wales, the Australian Capital Territory and South Australia.
Seedlings are being established from indigenous tree species in each of the sites and planted in national parks across Australia, as well as other public and private lands that have been affected by bushfires. Learn more about the four new nurseries here.
My Part In Giving Back
Because I have partnered with One Tree Planted, I am helping them plant more trees by donating a tree for every customer from the website. In 2021 we donated 255 trees, how amazing is that! We kept it local and are helping restore the Australian landscape after the 2019/2020 Black summer bushfires. Know that every time you make a purchase from The Breathing Leaf, you will be making a real difference.
We are also dedicated to using sustainable packaging. That includes biodegradable packing peanuts, recycled tissue paper and eco-friendly biodegradable packing tape.
Together we can build a brighter future one plant at a time.
